REMEMBER THEM: CHAMPIONS FOR HUMANITY
The original impetus for the creation of Remember Them: Champions for Humanity were
the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Mario Chiodo recently decided to add a
figure of a NY firefighter to the monument as a tribute to the courage of those who
selflessly came to the rescue. A piece of steel from Ground Zero was donated by
the City of New York and is preserved within the fourth section. The fourth bronze
section of the massive sculpture is currently in being installed. Its dedication
date is May 31st, 2013.
